Summer Maintenance Brightens Serene Campus
Without students, the Punahou School campus is quiet in the last week before the beginning of the new school year, but it hasn't been without activity. The Punahou campus team has been working hard to polish and ready the School before the doors open to the ever-lively group of K – 12 students and faculty on Aug. 16.
Summer maintenance helps to brighten both the School's outer appearance and the energy of the campus. Here's a quick look at what's going on. The physical plant team is working on creating a new level to the Castle Art Center. Carpeting in the basement of Pauahi Hall has been removed and replaced with rubberized flooring. New seating and black-out shades have been installed in Dillingham Hall, and the lobby has been given a fresh coat of paint. The curtains of Thurston Classroom are being replaced. Hemmeter Fieldhouse will receive its yearly scrub and re-coating of the main gym floor. Renovations in Wilcox Hall will make place for an additional room.
Outside, buildings' exteriors will be power washed and windows will be cleaned. Inside, carpets will be shampooed and scrubbed, and upper surfaces will be dusted.
As the school grounds wake up from a summer break, these changes will add to the campus and improve the facilities. The excitement continues to build on and off campus, as the new school term promises more challenges and opportunities. The campus itself seems abuzz with anticipation.
Mahalo to campus' devoted team for all of the work and dedication they put into this school. Their service constantly betters Punahou for the people in it.
